What is 3CX caller ID rotation and why do I need it?

3CX caller ID rotation automatically cycles outbound calls across a pool of DIDs instead of dialling from one or two fixed numbers. Carriers and mobile OS spam filters watch call frequency per DID — repeated dialling from the same number triggers 'Spam Likely' or 'Scam Risk' labels. Rotation spreads the load so no single number gets overused, and answer rates stay high. VoIPSetu adds this on top of standard 3CX, which handles caller ID assignment but not rotation, health monitoring or auto-flagging.

How is this different from standard 3CX caller ID control?

Standard 3CX lets you assign an outbound caller ID per extension, group or trunk — static configuration. VoIPSetu adds the live control layer on top: automatic rotation across a DID pool, per-DID call-count ceilings, real-time spam detection, cool-down windows for flagged numbers, and one-console visibility of every outbound number's health.

Does 3CX caller ID rotation need special telco features?

No. It works with any DID pool provisioned on your 3CX — SIP trunk, PSTN or hosted. VoIPSetu decides which number each outbound call goes out on; 3CX handles the actual dial. No carrier changes required.

Can agents still pick a caller ID manually when they need to?

Yes. Auto-rotation is the default, but agents can override and pick a specific caller ID per call — useful for callbacks, local presence or named-account outreach.

What happens when a 3CX caller ID gets flagged as spam?

The number is auto-flagged in the console, rotation skips it for a 48–72 hour cool-down, and an email alert goes to the owner so you can rest it, replace it, or open a carrier reputation ticket.

Can we retire a 3CX caller ID without losing its history?

Yes. Soft delete keeps every call, usage and performance record; the number is hidden from rotation and can be restored any time.
